DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANTIOXIDANTS
There are several different types of antioxidants. Scientists believe that one group, called flavanol antioxidants, may be particularly effective at ‘neutralising’ the free radicals. Other than grape-seed extract, no food naturally contains more flavanol antioxidants than Dark Choxi+.
THE ‘COCOA VITAMIN’
Perhaps the most exciting antioxidant of all is epicatechin, which seems to be especially potent. Research at Harvard Medical School is on-going but initial findings have been so positive that it has led to epicatechin being called the ‘cocoa vitamin’. Cocoa beans and Choxi+ are a particularly rich source of this extraordinary substance.
A WELL BALANCED DIET
To get the maximum benefit from Choxi+, you should enjoy it as part of a balanced diet. Choxi+ is an excellent source of flavanol antioxidants but that does not mean you should substitute it for one of your five daily portions of fruit and vegetables. Two squares of Dark Choxi+ (a whole day’s worth of antioxidants) contain just over 50 calories – slightly less than a typical apple – so Choxi+ is easy to include in a balanced diet.
