Yes, only better. The gentle way in which Choxi+ is made doesn’t just mean that it’s better for you, it tastes better, too. Dark Choxi+ has at least 63% cocoa solids and has a wonderful rich taste without being too bitter. Milk Choxi+ has 38% cocoa solids and is deliciously creamy. Yum.
Happily, your body can’t really have too many antioxidants so you needn’t worry how much Choxi+ you eat on that score. Choxi+ contains roughly the same amount of fat and sugar as other chocolate and you should try to eat it as part of a balanced diet.
The most widely used scientific method for measuring antioxidants is called the ORAC method (oxygen radical absorbance capacity), which measures a food’s ability to neutralise the potentially harmful free radicals in our bodies. There is still no set recommendation for the amount of antioxidants in our diet but some nutritionists have suggested we should aim to consume food or drink with a rating of about 4,000 ORAC a day. Two squares of Choxi+ contains 4,600 ORAC.
Apart from providing between two and three times more antioxidants than ‘ordinary’ chocolate, Choxi+ contains a fairly similar amount of fat, sugar and calories. A day’s supply of antioxidants, or 10g of Dark Choxi+, contains 2.3g of saturated fat and 50.9 calories. Two squares or 25g of Milk Choxi+ contains 5.56g of saturated fat and 136.25 calories.
